Seán Hogan

Cartoonist, Storyboard Artist and Illustrator

My name is Seán Hogan, a 25 year old cartoonist & storyboard artist, currently working at Cartoon Saloon. I'm at an early stage in my career, working in the animation industry for the past 2 years, and creating independent comics for the past 4 years.

I work on the Storyboard Team at Cartoon Saloon, helping to bring season 1 of the original television show ‘Dorg Van Dango’ to life. This show will be broadcast worldwide on Nickelodeon, as well as here in Ireland on RTE. Prior to this, I worked with the Storyboard Team at Lighthouse Studios, working on season 1 of ‘Bug Diaries’, which recently premiered on Amazon Prime Video.

I have recently finished the script to my next graphic novel, ‘Brotherhood’, which I hope to release in the Summer of 2020. It is currently in pre-visual development and the process of drawing pages will begin later this year.

In 2015 I released my debut graphic novel, 'Rabbit and Paul'. A fantastic learning experience, the title struck a chord with both critics and the public. It was nominated for 3 ICN Awards, winning 1 award.

My 2nd book, 'Project Crossroads', was a collaboration with 7 other Irish comic creators, was released in 2016. The book was launched at Thought Bubble, Leeds, and had its Irish launch in the Big Bang Comics, Dundrum.

I graduated with a 1st Class Honours in 3-Dimensional Design, Model Making & Digital Art from IADT, Dun Laoghaire, in 2016. While there I learned how to conceptualise and create in 3-dimensions, both physically and digitally, for application in product design, film, and interactive media.
